Happy Leapday(Year).

Whoah, where is the time going? We are half way through this week & I haven't even updated you on my wonderful weekend.

Friday night started out with the bf & I going to a hockey game.  If I haven't mentioned it before....bf loves hockey.  Borderline obsessed.  Season-tickets-never-misses-a-game obsessed.  I go with him sometimes.  Because I like hanging out with him.  & I like watching the fights. This game was particularly exciting because it ended in a shoot-out & our team ended up scoring 1 goal FTW! (Is this a common abbreviation? my brother tells me it means "for the win")

Saturday bf & I went & got massages.  A couples massage to be exact.  Let me ask you a question - What are the point of these?  We are laying on beds 4 feet apart in a dark room with fake ocean music playing.  I dont know about you, but I think it would have been just as good if I had my own room.  Just sayin.  Thoughtful of bf to do that though.  Awwwwwww +1 for him.  He probably thinks I have to watch football or something ridiculous like that since he was nice to me.  After the massages we went shopping because I think my closet is empty.  Then we went home & got ready for a benefit later that night.

I tried to win a spa package & some wine, but ended up just chowing down on a bunch of peach cobbler instead.  Eh, almost as good.  We made this sort of an early night so I could get some beauty rest for the next day.

Sunday I got to celebrate a new little baby on the block!  Another girl I work with (Hi Karla!!!!) had a cute little baby boy recently.  Since she & her husband waited until he was born to find out the sex - we had a party to get the little one stocked up on some baby boy clothes!

Have I ever said I have the best co-workers on earth? We see each other daily & yet I dont mind spending the weekends with them as well.  Everyone is different & fun & beautiful.  If most of them weren't married I'd tell you all to look them up!

See what I mean? Cute right??? :)

Karla & little Brody are in the middle back of the photo.  I wish I would have gotten a close up of the little nugget!  He was sleeping peacefully for almost his whole party.  What a sweetie!  A few of the other girls had their babies there with us for the par-tay.  Heidi hosted so her little cutie was there too!  I was lucky enough to get to hold her most of the day.
Can I be jealous of a 5 month old's eyes & lashes?
Ok I am.
Seriously.  Loved holding onto this little angel all day!

After they pried me away from the babies I went home to the bf & rested up the rest of the weekend.  He may have been a little frightened at how much fun I had with the little ones.  Oooopppsss.

KG

Shopping Excitement (Problem).

These self-subscribe emails are a problem.  A huge problem.  / A huge excitement when my new purchases come in.  Throughout the week as my items are "shopped to me" through sites like HauteLook, RueLaLa, & ShopItToMe, I browse the items & bookmark ones that are of particular interest & then on Friday I decide if I really want need them.

Here's what I have bookmarked today:
Super-cali-fragi-lipstick - $78

Ok can you blame me on this one? How stinkin' cute is that? I dont even feel like a 100% girly-girl, but I NEED to have this......Eventually..... Hopefully.....Maybe.

Suede Steve Madden Boots - $169.95 $55.99

Lets be real.  In the winter, in Nebraska I live in boots.  If I want to venture outside into the snow to do something fun I need some CUTE boots.  I think these fit the bill.  Plus, check out that discount!!!!! I mean really? I dont want to hoard things I dont "need", but I swear I don't have any boots this color.  I feel like tan is essential to a wardrobe......(? this is me seeking validation.....?)

Michael Kors Ostrich Saddle Bag/Satchel  $348 $224

Although I strongly dislike the term "saddle bag" (because it reminds me of my thighs), how can you not love this purse?  I dont even like purses that much.  I usually keep the same one for a year + until its absolutely necessary to search for another.  Apparently I think I need to be a purse queen lately because I now have one cream, one black, & want this. Seriously?

But really. A big satchel.  Yes please. I need room to keep my book & planner & perfume & lotion & keys & mittens & other girly things that are unnecessary really, but I think I "need" to carry with me on a daily basis.

Lady Luck Rings $34

The picture does not do these justice.  I have been searching for the perfect stackable rings & I think these just might be it.  I typically am just a gold-wearing girl, but I love the mixture of metals here.  Feels dressy, but messy. I like that.

So I thought writing this would make deciding easier, but I think I just talked myself into all of them.  Too bad my paycheck & bills said no.  Hmmmmmm pouting until decison is made.

KG

House (Condo/Apt) Tour

Hiiiiii
So I promised you some bedroom re-do photos a looooong time ago.

I was waiting until the paint got finished so I could do a suspenseful reveal, Ok?  Well, I decided its taking far too long, so I'll show you our cute little home.  (I call it a house, but really its an apt/condo type thing.  House sounds more home-y though, so there.).  Good news for you though! The painting is finished in the bedroom & bf is putting all the hardware back on tonight.  That means FINISHED ROOM PICS SOON....... .Ok, I'm probably the only one excited about that, but still.

Du-du-du-DAHH!
This is probably most true to what the bedroom looks like usually.  Except usually there is random pantyhose/undergarments on the ground. I spared you the dirty details & cleaned those up before the photos happened.  You're welcome.

Yes, that's our little devil Kitter creeping out from her lair under the bed.

My phone is (not) discretely charging in the corner.  Along with my towel dress & my big-red-bag-of-nonsense that I carry everywhere with me.

The "art" is off-center beause I wanted to move the bed further to the left. Bf doesn't agree.  Oh well, the art is coming down :)

Here is a little more cleaned up version.  Still have the devil kitty though.  She has a mind of her own.  & what are those little white dots floating around???? Probably spirits.  Great, our house is haunted too.  Anyway, that's the view from the doorway.  See our pretty new dresser over there? LOVE.  Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday, Happy Valentine's Day to me!
Here's a view from the other side of the room so you can scope that beauty out alittle more.  Dont mind Millie (the giant giraffe).  She didn't have anywhere to hide during photos.  She will be banished to a more permanent home after all the painting things are done.  But meanwhile, I think she was enjoying the attention of being the main focus of the photo.  The door to the left is my packed full closet.  To the right is the man bathroom.  If there weren't 3 pairs of "work jeans" on the bathroom floor I would have let you see it.  Maybe next time.

Here's a view in the corner of the room.  Now you can see our neat little shrine area (dont know what the heck to do with that) & the doorway to the hall.  Also creeping in the photo is our other dresser with mirror. Yay!

Oh here it is again.  Thank god the flash covered my face. Yesssssss. Strategic.

There's a few cute decorations going on there.  Hopefully they will find a nice home once the repainting is finished.

So I think that's it for the before's on the bedroom.  Here's a pic of my cute painter.

After's will be coming soon (right bf?????).

Sorry that was boring - Hopefully the finished product is more fun.  If not maybe I'll entertain you with kitty pics.

XOXO,

KG

Welcome to my Disasterous Self

- Our bedroom is half painted.  Bf thought the first two coats of paint "didn't cover well" & has banished me from helping anymore.  Me not helping = half painted bedroom=paint rollers in our refridgerator=sour cream container full of paint=me opening it up & inevitably spilling paint(only a little bf, dont worry).  Neato.  Paint in fridge is not good for a mess maker like me.

-Our washing machine is broken.  Like worse than the one that shook the whole laundry room while spinning.  Worse than the one that you had to physically grab the knob & move it to the next cycle.  Oh yes, our brand new washer floods our whooooooole laundry room....which just happens to house our little Kitter's (kitty bundle of joy) bathroom (aka litterbox).  Water + kitty food + litter on floor = a wet little sandy kitty litter mess. & it doesn't smell nice either. Awesome.

-I was utterly confused yesterday when my car told me "Low Tyre Pressure".  I thought, "WTF, how do people who build cars not know how to spell tire?  Did they do it for a joke?  If so, that's prettttttty funny.  But no, they wouldn't do that....WTF".  Then I did what an intelligient woman would do & posted the photo of the "Tyre" warning to Facebook, to elicit responses from my more intelligent friends list.  Within 20 minutes someone had pointed out that I had a foreign car & that was the way "tire" was spelled in Germany-or-whatever-place-they-built-my-car.  Oooooooooooooh.  Much less funny than I was expecting.

So I ignored the warning.  It's Nebraska you know.  During the first (shockingly) snow of the winter.  That always happens.  I'm no moron.

Nope. I'm super smart....Right until my tires blows out driving down the most major highway in town.  Now, not feeling so smart.  Calling the bf to tell him the news is not fun.  But oh well, I bet he really wanted to be out in the 30 degree weather fixing it for me anyway.

I'll probably come home to something the kitty has ruined & the tornado that is my life will be complete.  Dont worry, I'll keep you posted so you can laugh along with me.

XOXO,

KG

PS.  I wish I had pictures of this nonsense for you.  Maybe I'll take some tonight just to show you how alarming it all is.

Mamma Mia ....

.....Here I go again.

My, My.

How lucky am I?  I got to spend the evening with MY Mamma & a few good friends.  I've never seen the movie, but this musical was amazing!  How do these people sing, dance, & act all at the same time?

This really makes me wish I would have pursued a more creative outlet in my life.

Here's a close up.

That's my Mamma on the left, Lovely friends Brandi & her Mamma Lori ....& then me.  Sporting my new glasses.  What do you think? Nerdy enough?

I felt like a semi-hot secretary in them.

The next second I felt like an awkward high school student.

If you guys think I'm somewhere in the middle I'll be happy with that.

XOXO,

KG

Funny shirts

Today I'm wearing a shirt that looks like I'm a flying squirrel.

You know what I'm talking about.  Those sleeves that are loose down to your elbows. I noticed  this when I was fixing my knot bun in the bathroom.  At 4:43pm.  Neato.

The other funny thing about this shirt is its in leopard print.
Leopard print isn't funny on its own, but its sort of funny when you think of it in flying squirrel shape right?

Just think of this:

+

Ok, so maybe the flying squirrel is just funny.

Or maybe its almost 5 on a Friday.  I'm hoping its both, so I feel less insane.

Bye now, off to stare at sexy 18 year old (shhhhhhh) hockey players.

XOXO,

KG

So me. TGIF.
