Bestie Bright Night Out

Ok, another best friend is getting married in a few short weeks. I'm soooooo happy! I was with her when she met her future hubby, so I like to take a little bit of credit for the run-in.  I couldn't be happier to have supported her through their relationship & stand by her side as she marries him.

We took a whole day to dedicate to her & all the awesome girls in her life.  Wedding shower & bachelorette party all in one day was basically like the most fun time I've had in .......ever.

This is the gorgeous bride. So many presents. When did we get old enough to be PUMPED about dishes & pot holders?

Eeeeeeeee, love her. Ok neat.

I might be biased, but I happen to think this a group of really gorgeous ladies.

After the shower, all the ladies who were going out for the evening made our way back to the hotel.  The suite was gorgeous. We had alot of snacks. & champagne. & girlie fun.  Getting ready with all your girl friends? Its been too long.  Loved it!

For the party, the we were supposed to wear our "little bright dress".  Mine was neon. Thank god other people's were too. Hoooorraaayyy for not getting lost in the dark!

What a fun day of celebrating. Can't wait til the wedding!!~

Updated House

Oh hey there,
We've just been working away on the house lately!  I took some updated pictures last week at the 3 week mark.  I feel like the pictures don't do it justice! All the work is on the DETAILS which I think is where our home will really be superior to others you might just purchase & move in.  They have taken the time to rip out all the flooring, cabinets, fixtures, base boards, tubs/showers, counters - basically everything! & are rebuilding up.

So far everything has been removed & now all the walls are drywalled, baseboards installed, windows taped, holes puttied & caulked.  Lots of really tiny details that will make all the difference *just maybe not so much in pictures!

I dont know why I feel like I have to justify that - I guess I just want everyone to know how hard the bf & his dad have been working on things! I dont want it to seem like "oh they are slow" because they are really paying attention to every detail & I feel so lucky & blessed that we will have such an amazing first home in the end.

See that new wall over to the right? That used to be the ugly wooden rails. Now its a wall - Yippeee!!

View from Living Room looking towards the entryway.  Now we have a cool little half-wall-separator-thing.

View from Living/Dining room looking towards the Kitchen.  Why yes, I did use a sledge hammer on that wall. I feel proud.  Yay for open feel!

View from Dining area into the Kitchen.  New cabinets! (currently being primed/painted. Slowly, becuase I'm doing it).

This is the "new" bathroom. Or just the beginning of a new bathroom.

MY CLOSET. Yes, yes, yes - They drywalled in the little doorway to the bathroom & made an extra large space for my clothes/shoes.  All the shelving is built now - need updated pictures soon!

Here's the scary downstairs bathroom & the vanity that bf built. This rooms needs some love. Like alot of love. Ewwwww. We are working on finishing up the upstairs first & then moving onto this scary little dungeon.

So there it is! Our little updated quick view of Myrtle.  Can't wait to move in! We will start painting this week.

XOXO,

It's Friday & I'm Restless.

I like my job, but I'm done with it for the week.  Anyone else ever feel that way? I have alot of energy, but energy that wants to get out of my office chair & shimmy to the car & start running errands.  We have a fun night ahead & I would like to hop to it as quickly as possible.  Before I do, I'll share some pictures.

So. Myrtle FINALLY closed on Tuesday. YIPPEE. Bf & I have a place to live! & we each get personal space! & our own DVR box!  This is major news people.  Bf does not like watching Housewives & I do not like watching hockey.  Our only compromise is Duck Dynasty & I'm fairly certain the season finale was last week.

Wednesday night we had a mini-housewarming party - So people could see the madness before the beauty begins to take place.  It was chillllllllly in there - even my chocolate chip cookies hardened up a little bit. So mad. They were delicious before the cold I swear. I personally heated them up for people in the microwave, so they wouldnt think I was dessert inept. Come on, its my favorite, I know what I'm doing here.

Dan & Sharon are some good friends of Matt's family.  Apparently Dan volunteered to help paint.  COME OVER ANY TIME! They were also sweet enough to bring us a "welcome home" basket.  Its the little things.

Had to keep my coat on since apparently the furnace doesn't work & its 39 degrees in NE in May.  FML.  But the kiddos are cute, dont you think?

Probably biased, but he's my fave 6 month old.Already can't wait for his Halloween/Birthday Party!

Friiiiiiennnnnnnnnndssssss........... We get lucky enough to hang out with these crazies about once a week.

Do you think its time for a new camera when yours starts making creepy orbs in every picture?  Honestly, I like my iphone better, but the dang eye corrector is a pain, so I was trying to be good & use the camera.  Strike 100. I need to buy myself a personal Iphone so I can upgrade this business!

(If you dont know, that's bf's Mom & Dad - Bf & his dad are kinda like twins. I like it).

See you soon yo!

XOXO

So Many Things, So Little Time.

Hi Friends-
I had a pretty big weekend. & what do you know? its almost this weekend before I can even tell you about it.

Friday night, we took bf's cousin Tucker to the hockey game with us & then had him over for a sleepover.  He's the smartest 5 year old ever - that or they are getting smarter these days.......

Bf's other cousin, Krista, came to the game with us & helped entertain Tucker for the sleepover that ensued.  All I can tell you is that it involved ordering Pizza Hut, playing Mario Kart on N64 & staying up til midnight....Seriously my wildest Friday night in a long time.  Bf & Tucker stayed up until 2am & it would have been later had bf not said he needed a break to "watch TV".  As soon as the games went off, Tucker was zonked.  What a doll!

Bf & I were up early in the morning to head to Carpetland & get some flooring samples.  He had  EXACTLY what I was looking for & was willing to give it to us at a price that we could afford! How lucky are we? Between that & my Hi-Rev coffee I may or may not have been bouncing off the walls.  We trekked to Schafer's for appliances after that & got to dig around in the warehouse for some awesome deals.  Let me just say......Our. Fridge. Is. Awesome. Can't wait to share pictures!

That afternoon I had a date with the bestie & my favorite man.

Jax, Marie, & I went for chips & salsa (yes, he's crashing girl dates already) & then hit up Yogurtini.  Yes, I'm a member & yes I almost have 50 points. Don't judge.

What a sweet little man. Awwww.....

Later that day, Dad almost choked on a turkey sandwich at Chile's.  I'm talking REAL choking.  My sis had to perform the heimlich on him! It was a very thankful & sombering moment when I found out that news.  We still went to dinner later, but I'm sure Dad was a little more careful with every bite.

Happy Birthday Pops!  (Who am I kidding, I obviously ordered this for myself, not his birthday, but it looks nice to think of it that way.)

Next up for my eventful day - Little Miss Vivi made her entrance into the world! She was scheduled for today, but came a little early.  Had to sneak in a quick visit on Sunday!

Eeeee! I think I need to go hold her again tonight. What a sweetheart!

Sunday night was spent viewing bf's gpas memorial & dinner with his family. I told you we were going nonstop!

Onto Monday, we made our way to the Homebuilders Association monthly meeting.  Guess who showed up for the membership drive?

Arent they clever?? I think so.

Call me a huge nerd (Matt does), but I love going to those dinners & banquets & socializing while there. There was a speaker & for some reason I find those so inspiring & interesting. I know most people think they are "boring" but I love the feeling of being involved in something that really matters & affects the future of the industry - which will be my future.  I'm just a bystander for now, but I love getting to meet everyone & hope to be involved more as life rolls on....

Finally, the past 2-3 days have been spent picking out flooring samples, paint colors, countertops, etc

& sinks...Ooooo...Ahhhhh........aint she a beauty? I love picking out, but it does make me a little anxious to have a "dream home" someday.  Right now, its just about piecing together affordable pieces that are good quality.  This was a good find.  YESSSSS. Hello master bath.

After looking at sinks, toilets, faucets, kitchen sinks, blah blah blah I had to cleanse my brain & hit Von Maur. These little cuties haven't made their way to my closet yet, but they are on the "list" of potential items.........

I want a haircut.
You like? I dont. This picture freaked me out from my original plan.

Ok, that's all, love you bye!

XOXO,

KG

why so cute??

Time Flies When You're Growing Up

Wellllllll.....Bad, bad, me hasn't been keeping you updated on my life happenings.  When I go through them day to day I feel like they are pretty montonous, but when I look back on the last few months - There are quite a few things that have happened!

#1 - which I'm sure you're all siiiiiick of hearing about.  The bf & I got to take a little getaway together! (Warning: I might use Cancun pics all post because I don't know if I have fun pictures of anything else.)
I mean....Look at that view. Seriously. When can I go back?
The bf & I had so much fun soaking in the sun & enjoying each other's company for a lovely few days in Mexico.  I was trying to be my type A self & plan every second of everyday, but thankfully for this man, I took a chill pill & just let myself "be".  Isn't that a freeing feeling?  I think so.  I squeezed in some spa time, a few fancy dinner, fancy dresses & created my own version of MaiTai that I drank at least 100 of.  Let's not get me started on the desserts. Nutella, Strawberries & Crepes. Match made in heaven. Me & those things could live together & hang out around every single meal.

Secondly, bf FINALLY FOR THE LOVE OF GOD sold the condo! HOOORRAAAYYY!!! This has been in the works for a few months, but the lovely financing people were being ever so difficult on approving the buyer's financing.  Luckily for us, everything worked out.  THAT my friends is the power of positive thought. (Learned that from the medium, go me!)

*More Mexico pics*

Thirdly, some friends & family got together to make a little trip to a medium at a bakery in Fremont. The bakery food was AMAZING, the medium was 1 part hokey, 2 parts fun, 1 part scary?  She had some good ideas & insight - I definitely went home & made a list of 5 goals & hung them where I would see them everyday (side of the Fridge....how cute).  I even made bf do one too.  Let me just tell you........I'M A BELIEVER.  I PROMISE YOU, since I have written those things down SO many things have fallen into place for alot of items on the list. I know we are only on the 4th month of the year, but I would love for all those to be checked off by June or July so I can make a new one!

Hi. Love him. Ok bye.

I'll tell you a little secret about one of my list items.  It's generally to spread by love & knowledge of health & fitness to others - while creating a happy & healthy balance for myself.  I know how to be wild & not care about fitness or nutrition (college).  I know how to be strict & reach my goals.  I now am working on having a happy & healthy balance in life.  Throughout my fitness journey, I have come in contact with so many people within the fitness realm & now contact them for advice, news, ideas, etc.. regularly.  I am SO AMAZED that I finally learned to fuel my body correctly & that by simply knowing what you're doing your body can feel SO GOOD.  I've heard a quote that says, Most people have no idea how good their body was intended to feel.  100% true.  I had NO IDEA on all the energy I could have!  I thought I had plenty before, but a few tweaks with my nutrition & BAM. It made such a night & day difference, that I decided to learn more & more & more & reach out to more individuals & read studies & research *(yep huge nerd) about the topic endlessly.  I hid this facet to my lift at first - I guess I felt a fear of being judged.  "Why are you learning about diets?" "Oh, like you need to lose weight", etc.  What a cowardly thing on my part!  #1 - What I have been studying is in no way a diet.  Its a journey to becoming happy & healthy by fueling my body with the correct foods & the correct times of the day.  I have learned that I used to over-exercise & under-eat.  Now, I eat more than I have in my life, exercise less, & still have a body that gives me so much energy & strength that I'm actually proud of it.
Hmmm K, can you see why I need to start spreading this stuff? I can't quit talking about what a positive difference it made in my life, my MIND, & my body.

Love this sunrise <3.
And finally, bf & I are thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiissssssss close to having a house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you know what that means? Alot of house updates coming your way! Bf loves projects so he will be doing most of the work himself (yay?) & is fine with me documenting it (I told him I was going to, not sure he had a choice).  The home is older, but very structurally sound - in a neighborhood with tons of character & other nice, quality homes! I can't wait to get our life started there *IF* its meant to be!
Not going to complain about there only being 1 bathroom upstairs & me having to share with guests. Ok, was that a complaint? haha, I guess I just dont know how poeple dont leave things out on their counters in the morning after they get ready? Where do they put all the things? - I have make up, brushes, hair spray, comb, brush, face wash, mousse, lotion, bronzer? Someone teach me?

Ok, love you 3 little readers out there!! Maybe if I start writing a few more fun things I can make my way up to 5.  Orrrrrr I'll tell people this is the only way to get house updates & I'll be up to a solid 10 readers. yessssssss.

XOXO,
